If the registration district was Hull, how could they be marrying in Lincoln?

From 1851 onwards, the family were living in Lincoln, Bail Gate and The High Street, where William had a shop.

I do not know anything of Eliza Paterson's roots, ( or Cornforth as she was born ) so do not know where her family came from.

I am not from the area, so have slightly muddled my posts

William Lawrence came from Lincoln and lived in Lincoln for all of his married life, but yes, you are quite right, the marriage took place in the parish of Holy Trinity,  Kingston-Upon-Hull, so I have probably been asking people to check in the wrong area! Oops!

Does anybody know if there was a street by the name of ' Dock Walls' in Hull?
