Kyle Family at Portglenone.
« on: Wednesday 09 January 13 03:23 GMT (UK) »
I am researching Matthew and Margaret (nee Barclay) Kyle of Portglenone. The family was residing there in 1872. Matthew Kyle was a Linen Weaver. They had a son Henderson Wasson Kennedy Kyle born about 1840. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Glenda

A bit more detail that you posted on another forum to save people searching for information you already have-

"Henderson Kyle (Carpet Weaver) moved to Glasgow, Scotland about 1861.
He married Agnes McAuslane 26 Nov 1869 at Glasgow and had two daughters: Agnes born 30 Sep 1870 (my gr. gr. grandmother) and Margaret born 01 Jul 1872.
Henderson died 26 Jun 1872 at Glasgow."

The reply has some useful information-

Have a look at this thread glenda. Mainly about Ahoghill, but does also mention connection with Kyle surname in Portglenone too:

I read the posts on Kyle's from Portglenone/Ahoghill area but no one has mentioned a connection to Matthew or Margaret (Barclay) Kyle or their son Henderson Kyle. I am hoping to find a birth record for Henderson Kyle (born abt. 1840). He may have been born in the Portglenone/Ahoghill area where his family was residing from 1861 according to Griffiths. Does anyone have a connection or information?

Glenda
