The only other possibility I can think of is that the name reflects a marriage. There is an 1849 marriage of William Frost to Hannah Hazeltine.Perhaps they had a son who used his parents names as a business name. The timescale seems just about possible.

Roger

Good Afternoon, Bob,
I have a little more on Mr Gladwin, which I'll send you, but I'm afraid I've lost your e-mail address!  Hopefully you still have mine, so drop me a line - I've heard from Maldon District Museum.

Regards

Chris

Re Hazeltine Frost- around 1910

Now found his name is William Hazeltine Frost (b: abt 1852 in Cavendish Square, London)
Married to Edith Eleanor Page (b: abt 1877 in Maidstone, Kent).
His father was William Blackman Frost, who died before his sons marraige in 1892.

Still trying to find family prior to marriage - Any leads ?

Hannah FROST was at 5 Guildford St in 1861, but with only two of the four children, Eliza and Henry. In 1881 she was at 5 Guildford St, with Eliza now married with children living with her.

William and Hannah were in Alfred Villa in Battersea in 1851. He was a Piano forte maker. Eliza aged 8mths was with them.

Ian you are a star - Thanks so much for the detailed information. Did I miss something as I can't find when/where William Blackman Frost was born (I think his father was also a William).

Hi There
I'm a newbie to this site. I'm interested in researching my family (my name Archive Jack is a joke with my cousin), and also early film-making in Hove.
I have a copy of a family photo, taken around 1903 (from the apparent ages of the children in it and the knowledge of their birth years). I was researching it and came across this thread. I don't know if this info is useful or new to you - it's nothing to do with Maldon, but here goes:
The reason I came across your thread is that the name on the photo frame is:
Hazeltine Frost - and the address is: 1, Princes Avenue, 72, Royal Parade, Muswell Hill, N. (see attachment if I've done  it right!)
I'd be confident that the name reflects either or both a marriage and a business partnership - and that they had more than one studio - with the Malden one run by a manager, hence no record of a Hazeltine living in Malden?
(My particular interest, Esme Collings, had up to 5 studios in different places, and partnerships with various people over time, including William Frieze-Green.)
There is a website I found for London photographers - but I'm afraid I couldn't find Hazeltine in it - https://www.photolondon.org.uk - and the contact page seems not to be working. I did find a similar directory for the whole of the UK but stupidly forgot to note it down.
Best wishes!
