Bledlow Children's Home
« on: Tuesday 15 January 13 18:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi. I'm new to Bucks records. Please could anyone help me find records about admissions to bledlow Children's home near Chinnor. I am interested in Edward Tapping who went there in about 1919.

Thanks

I think Bledlow home closed in the 1980's, so I doubt the records will be available.   You could try sending an enquiry email to the Bucks Archives.

I had a couple of school mates who were there in the 1960's.

Hi Bucksboy
Thank you for the link. It was that starting point that I needed. I shall follow your suggestion and see what they have.

Hi all,
I was there in 1963 for a few months and was the worst time of my life. the abuse we the children suffered was unbelievable and if anybody has researched and found the name of the couple in charge at that time I would be most gratefull to know (we only ever knew them as the master and mistress.

Two brothers were there is the late 1950's and early 60's, surname of Eccles.  One had the christian name of David, the other boys name, I cannot remember.  I do know it was a terrible place to be in at that time, only from the information of the Eccles brothers.
