Steel family of Belfast
« on: Friday 03 June 05 22:36 BST (UK) »
I am looking for any info/details of William Steel, son of Matthew Coates Steel (a Master Jeweller), both of Belfast (or surrounding area).

William Married Catherine Moore (dau. of Robert Moore, a bootmaker), on 14 Jan. 1903, at St. Enoch's Church, Shankill Parish, Belfast.

  Thanks,

  Marcus

Hello Marcus,

A guy who comes into the Central Library in Belfast from time to time mentioned to me that he's researching the history of the Steel and Sons Cup to send to Kim Steel in Canade. She's seeking information about her great grandfather who was a master jeweller in Belfast and a member of the Steel and Son business who presented a cup to the County Antrim & District FA. The first winners of the Steel & Sons Cup were Linfield Swifts in 1895-6.
