Sarah Jones
« on: Tuesday 22 January 13 10:16 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the date of birth  of my grandmother Sarah Jones. She was born in 1883 and I believe that she was born in Pontgarreg Newcastle Emlyn or at Gwynfryn Capel Evan. She died in 1952 at Blaenwinllan Cross  Henllan (before I was born) . Members of the family know the birth year but not the date.

I think you will have to buy a copy of her birth certificate.
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

census information is Crown Copyright from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hello  :)

I found the death of Sarah A Jones, age 69, in 1952.
Carmarthen volume 8a page 284

so she had a middle name, probably Ann, which should help to narrow it down!

Do you know her marriage details - husband's name, date and location of marriage? If so, perhaps we can find the marriage so that you can purchase the certificate. This would hopefully give more information to help track down the right birth. The more info you have the better when dealing with any Jones family members!  :D

Modified - do you know whether she had any brothers and sisters? extra clues!

Kind Regards
Morgan

Capel Iwan/Evan, a village in the Parish of Cilrhedyn, so once you have more details you can search in a smaller area for the family on 1891 census. Do you have Sarah on 1901 or 1911 censuses?
