General Query - Hodgen Liddell

 I am just wondering if anyboby can verify this information for me Hodgen Liddell was born 1814 in England, and died 4 SEP 1888 in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland. his father was John Liddell and his mother was Sarah Fisken dates for John and Sarah are unknown as well as their parentage.....

I take it the source of this information is a Scottish death certificate? Did Hodgen marry in Scotland by any chance?

Hodgen did marry Blair in scotland....but the location of hodgen's birth is a mystery and are the details  for his mother and father

What leads you to believe Hodgen was born in England? Liddell appears to be largely a Scottish surname, though of course this family may have lived in England. Have you checked Scotland's People for his birth and his parent's marriage just in case?

If Hodgen and Blair married in Scotland do you have their marriage entry?

The family tree was started by a distant cousin so i'm not sure where abouts he found his information..as for myself there's not much i can do myself apart from use the free access family history sites...but none have given me information regarding where he was born or the information for his parents.

The surname Fisken appears to be exclusively Scottish. Liddell appears in England with highest distribution in the northern counties. Not set in stone, of course - just a rough guide.

Are you aware of the site "Scotland's People"?
