See the relevant page on the Workhouses site:
http://www.workhouses.org.uk/Alnwick/

There are links to residents in 1823 and 1881.

Otherwise very few records survive.

You can find the "inmates" of the workhouse for each census year as they are (or should be) listed in each census. For example I found one of my sisters ancestors in the Glendale Union Workhouse in Wooler in the 1861 Census. It gave her name, age, place of birth and occupation prior to her entering the workhouse. The details of all the "inmates were similarly listed.

Like several other info sources, the Workhouse info is not an exact science.
Tyne & Wear Archives ( Newcastle),and Northumberland County Record Office ( Woodhorn)
have records which hold additional info on top of census info. (e.g.such as date of admission, date of discharge, religion, home parish/township, status ( like physical and mental health).

Blyth Library hold fiche ( I think provided by Northumberland & Durham Family History Association )with info on Tynemouth Workhouse inmates.

Best bet for Alnwick info is Woodhorn.
