This Mary TINEY appears to be "Mary Ann" (daughter of Ellen and Michael) - whose birth (along with 3 other siblings), appears on the NZ Index under the spelling of "TINAY".

I haven't been able to locate the birth registration of May TINEY (TINAY) ... although I'm fairly sure I have found her death under her married name.   (Details to follow.)

Lucy, Spades, Kiwihalfpint thank you for all your records. I have no definite proof of year of Mays birth.  Here is the rest of the family born to Michael Tiney & Ellen Tiney McLeod.
There is a Mary Annie also.

Died:   11 June 1935 - aged 30 years   [bc 1905*]

*  Age at death [30 = bc 1905] could be incorrect  ?

[OR ... if the 1905 death of Ellen TINAY - 41years (given earlier by Twiggy), is the mother of May TINEY, then it may be that she died during or shortly after childbirth, and that the birth registration of May, was overlooked ? ]

May's husband was quite a few years older than she.

Ellen Tiney died in 1905 in Mt Peel nz.
The last child born to her was Kathleen Tiney Dec 25th 1903 and on the list I have May is listed before her. Forgot to say thank you to Twiggytree also
