Can anyone tell me which enumeration district was Laws Street Pembroke Dock?

As far as I am aware Laws Street did not exist in 1841. In fact look over the census and no streets east of Queen Street appear to have been built. such as Bush Street, Meyrick St, Dimond St, Laws Street, Argyle Street, Hawkstone Rd etc etc. All street mentioned (in my very early copy) of the '41 show only those streets around Commercial Row, Clarence St, Park Street, Brewery Street Pembroke Street etc, I have not name all.

From my research into street Gas Lighting of Pembroke Dock Laws Street is not mentioned in the continued arguments between Pembroke Borough (responsible for the Dock) and the yet established town Council of Pembroke Dock over costs of lighting.

If I'm in error I'm sure someone will put me right.

Using the address search on FindMyPast, I can see Laws Street in 1851, but not in 1841?

Anyone know when Lower Gwyther Street was built? I know it was built in dribs and drabs not all at once.

Thanks Owen

That answers my question!  I could not find it by searching through the various districts.

Anyone know when Lower Gwyther Street was built?.
I am really going out on a limb here, so be very circumspect about my answer please.

Most (but not all) ‘Upper’ and ‘Lower’ whatever street P.D. appear to disappear circa the turn of the 19th/20th century, when it is my contention that house numbers changed into a more formulated numbering. i.e. instead of 1 Lower Laws Street and 1 Upper Laws Street, it just became Laws street with one house being nbr 1.

Turning to Gwyther Street, my esti-guessti, finger in the air hoping for answer is about 1890 +/- 10 years. I think it was built not long before Argyle Street, which (the Hawkstone Rd end area built was turn of the century.

I have a photo from Argyle Street when it was being built, and if you look at the Haggar films on the net then the 1st ever world wide police chase ever shown on film was filmed in the building of Argyle Street and the path way, bird cage walk, down to the level crossing by the pub the 1st and last. Yet another 1st for the Dock.

As I say do not take my guess at year intro of Gwyther St as gospel.
