Llanenddwyn parish Records
« on: Wednesday 13 February 13 13:20 GMT (UK) »
I was at our local LDS Church yesterday and found on the Llanenddwyn Parish Records the following - Burial 13 March 1805 - Richard Griffith (no age).
There was also a word which nobody could decipher -   Hendic....od
If anybody has access to these records, I would appreciate it if they could figure this out for me. It is possible that this is the burial of 4x greatgrandfather Richard Griffith who was born in Llanymawddwy in 1750.

Thanks,
Johanson

I've had a look at the copy on FindMyPast and I think it's probably Hendrecoed. He left a will which you can access on the NLW site and that gives the parish as Llanaber. The will mentions one son - Griffith Richard - and Richard's wife Lowry, others mentioned are not relatives.

My relative, Griffith Pryse/Price, also lived at Hendrecoed, although there were two - Uchaf and Isaf.

His will of 1804 mentions that Richard Griffith was his friend, as was Evan Roberts who signed Richard's will.

I don't know if they had any link with Llanymawddwy but I will have a look through my records.

Osprey - I missed your message previous and thank you so much. Unfortunately "my" Richard Griffith's wife's name was Jane and my research so far, shows that Jane died in 1804 (but I could be wrong).

Thanks again,

Johanson

The only information I can find about Richard is that he was a tenant at Hendrecoed, which was owned by Griffith Price.

Given that his wife's name was Lowry, it seems unlikely that he had any link to Llanymawddwy.

There was a Richard Griffith who died in nearby Mallwyd in 1800 but his wife was Elizabeth.

Thanks David - Richard Griffith is proving to be one elusive person - and what makes it worse there is another Richard Griffith born around the same time at Troedyrhiw, Llanymawddwy.

Will keep digging and thanks again,

Johanson
