Hi
There are a few entries for LANGRIDGE and LANGDRIDGE in the Great Yarmouth area of Norfolk. Any particular names you are after?

Thanks for the quick response. I have a John Langridge born c 1787 who married a Margaret Meadows born c 1773 Yarmouth, they married 1808 St Nicholas, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk. I am trying to establish where John came from. He could possibly have been born in Sussex but need confirmation, also his parents. If he was born in Norfolk I would like if possible his history, if anyone can help.
Regards
Sandra

Hello Sandra,
I am also looking for information on john langridge and margaret meadows. I do have a little bit of information from then to now about john's family. Also about john as far as i can tell he came from the Snodland, Kent, area i think. I am still trying to find out who his perents are though. I am also interested in finding more information about him. Have you had any luck?
Regards
Stephen

They had a son Samuel John Langridge born 5 February 1810 first baptized St Nicholas Great Yarmouth 22 February 1810, then a second time at the Wesleyan/Methodist Chapel on 11 March 1810.
At this baptism it states the father is a gunner on HMS Oberon.

Margaret was baptized Presbyterian 16 April 1775 Great Yarmouth, parents Samuel a shoemaker and wife Margaret.

So the first son was named Samuel after his maternal grandfather and his second name John for his father.

The first Nathaniel of John and Margaret was born 10 June 1816 baptized 15 July 1816 Sheerness Kent - The White Chapel/ Wesleyan
He was buried 7 December 1816 Minster in Sheppey, Kent.

Lydia was born 24 February 1818 bap. 11 March 1818 Sheerness Kent

Nathaniel Thomas was born 20 September 1820 bap 2 December 1820 Rochester Kent (Bethel Chapel/ Wesleyan) father listed as Royal Navy.

1841 John Langridge is listed as a Navy Pensioner so perhaps there are military records  to be found.
