Trying to track down marriage of William H. Roberts and Catherine J ?? in the Llandygai area between 1922 and 1926. Any pointers.

Can't see a perfect match, the nearest being a William J. Roberts marrying a Catherine J. Hughes. This is a civil marriage at Caernarfon in 1924. The Bangor Register Office reference is: CAE/70/E39, or the GRO ref: Carnarvon - September Quarter - 11b 708.

Since discovered from electoral rolls they were living as W.H. Roberts and Catherine J. Roberts in 1920 - there were no Caernarfonshire electoral rolls from 1915 to 1920. However. and I know it seems far fetched, but putting every fact  I know (and adding the Holmesian logic about the impossible/possible) together I think that W. H. Roberts was living as man and wife with his cousin! They never married. I also used my data/logic to come to the conclusion that W. H. Roberts' mother, also Catherine, lived together as man and wife with her nephew Owen Humphreys!

Of course, I could be totally wrong - but there is no marriage record that I can find anywhere for either couple. And Catherine reverted her he previous married name of Roberts when buried.

Just had another quick look at BMD   Bangor marriage, Sep 1915  11b  846, William H Roberts and Catherine J Pritchard.

To say I am embarrassed is putting it mildly....I wonder why I couldn't find them.  Slapdash, I guess.
Now to sort out the relationship between Owen Humphreys and Catherine Roberts, and why she reverted to Roberts at her death/burial.
