Hello again
The Wharfedale Gen. site is a goldmine, I spent most of this afternoon checking out the Atkinsons, found Henry's parents info and others on my tree such as the Wilkinsons from Burnsall.

Ellen, please - how would I check the quarter sessions - are they on line or do I need to visit Leeds or somewhere?
Thanks, Grace

Hi Grace

No, I don't think they've got them online. You would be best contacting Wakefield archives which holds most of the central old West Riding records, and Quarter Sessions would be a central record applicable to across the county.
You can email them at wakefield@wyjs.org.uk

The licences for publicans/public houses might fall under Otley Petty Sessions records, but a quick look at the online catalogue didn't enlighten me.

Regards

Ellen

It would entail a visit and book beforehand as they do get busy and have limited opening times.

The archive service has introduced a type of library card to be used by all.

Thanks again, I'll have to pay a visit to Wakefield - it's not too far for me to go.

Thanks also for the link to the West Yorks. archive site, another useful one to know about.
regards Grace

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Just to let you know that Grace hasn't been on-line since 2013.

Hello wrjc,

Welcome to RootsChat. I am very sorry but our notification to Grace has bounced back to us, it looks like she has changed her contact email and has not let us know what the new one is so sadly we are no longer able to make contact. Old members do get back in touch every day, I hope that this will happen for this member.

Regards

Sarah
