Could this be him in 1891 listed as Victor with his grandparents?

Can't find a Robert Stevens bn 1869 Hammersmith,

However, the family Sami have found with Victor, in the 1881 census have a son Robert Strugnell bn 1869 Hammersmith.

Hi I think the scenario goes something like this (off the top of my head)!

A Robert Stevens is married to a Charlotte b c 1843 Farnham in Farnham 1861 RG09/432/209/34 Robert Stevens dies and Charlotte remarries a Joseph Bishell in June qtr 1871 Farnham 2a 143, in 1871 he is in Aldershot Barracks aged 23 Census Ref RG10/818/77/7 Robert Stevens aged 1 b London Middx, could be the one stated to be "Taken to be nursed" with a Daniel family in Caernarvonshire 1871 Census Ref RG10/5720/58/5, Charlotte then marries again to Jesse Strugnell in June 1878 Farnham 2a 188 (Just getting this down as my pad was getting full)!!

No he is not in Carnarvonshire he is with Charlotte Stevens, aged 2 born (Sutton) Surrey on RG10/821/131/8 in Farnham!

Confusing - but to take it a bit further then

in 1861:
Robert and Charlotte Stevens are living in Farnham (RG09/432/209/34)

Robert Stevens marries Charlotte Morrison in 1860 in Farnham, Surrey
England:  Archer, Bailey, Bates, Blower, Bosworth, Court, Hicklin, Orton, Palmer, Robbins, Sedgwick, Smith, Stevenson, Stone, Varnam, Wakelin, Walker
