Michael Dennis

Hi im trying to find any information out on Michael Dennis.he was based at the raf in Colchester and was a bomber squadron leader I think he flew the spitfires.his son also Michael was adopted and only knows the above info bout his father we dont know when he was born but he did die early in life .any help would be great as Michael Dennis is my children s great granfather .

Have you considered that the story that Michael Dennis "died young so we have been told and left littlle Michaels mum at the alter" might have just been a story told to the son to explain what happened to his father? it might be that the father is still alive or died long after 1950.

Could be but the Michael Dennis was going to marry alice Ann greenwood and because he stood her up at the alter and decided not to marry her that is why alice decided to have Michael adopted .then alices mum Isabella stepped in and said she would adopt Michael with alices. step dad mr bridger .

Just keep in mind that family stories can get a bit muddled over time or that it may have been decided to tell a kinder version of what happened. If Michael's son is still living then details about him, and his adoption, aren't really suitable for discussion here as Rootschat does have a policy on not posting details of living people.

I didn't know that but he is interested in finding out about his real dad  .what im really trying to find is a record of Michael Dennis in the raf he was awarded a distinction medal and was one of the top spitfire pilots during the war .weres the best place to find army records
