Im trying to find out about these men and how do i go about getting there seaman records or there childrens names.  Michael Larkin married Maggie Wynne in London in 1939.  Had two daughters trying to get there marriage certs or when they married there names were * and *.  Also John Larkin marrried Josie Mullhall and had a son called *.

* names of children born 1940s or later removed as they might still be living

hi ,
when you get the marriage certificate it will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom.
the birth certs. of the couple will each have both parents named.

You need to buy the marriage certificate from here http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ cost £9.25. The details you need are:-
Bride or Groom's names
Jun Quarter 1939
Registration district:   Southwark
Volume Number:   1d
Page Number:   144

Once you have this you will see the ages of bride and groom and their father's names. You can then find the birth registration which will give the mother's name and maiden surname.

For Michael Larkin b Dublin check here for the details http://search.ancestry.co.uk/search/db.aspx?dbid=2573.

Were the two daughters of Michael and Margaret born in the UK? I can't see any obvious births.

Do you know when Michael and John were born? You might find them on the Ireland 1911 census with their parents as a short cut to getting the information you are seeking.

Thanks - I saw the thread on the latest Beginner Board so assumed it was current. I had thought old threads dropped out of sight as other more recent ones came in on top.

Will make sure I check dates in future.
