Can anyone please look up the parish record of the marriage of William KNOTT married 1840 June 1/4 Gravesend (GRO REFERENCE)

Have you looked on the city ark site?
Parish registers for that area can be viewed on there. Remember Gravesend in the GRO index is a registration area and so you will need to look through several parishes  - hopefully it will be in the first you look in!

I looked on City Ark as you suggested and found the marriage entry, quite intriguing really this couple seemed to have married twice once in Kent in 1840 and again in Lambeth in 1841 I have looked very carefully at the signatures on both documents and they are exactly the same, even one of the witnesses signature is the same.  I don't know the answer as to why they married twice.
