Hi i am trying to find the mother of richard clegg born in ireland abt 1822 ,his father was also called richard clegg born northern Ireland.Both richards moved to england manchester and are living there in 41 census  and every census record after that states birth place as Ireland and then in the 1891 census richard clegg junior has put birth place as Dublin Ireland ,also father richard is always listed as a widow ,so i am unsure weather the wife died in ireland or england ,would be nice to find out her name ? .thanks michelle

forgot to add that richard junior was born abt 1822 dublin and the father was born in 1791 ireland ,and its the mother im trying to locate a possible marriage to richard clegg so i know her name

Hi, i found these on irish genealogy church records.dates not bang on with what you have but who knows? marriage in st catherines [church of ireland] 15 july 1811 richard clegg to mary tipper . birth st catherines 10th sep 1814 of richard clegg of above sps joseph tipper and mgt madden.birth st marys pro cathedral [catholic] 7th oct 1820 margaret clegg of richard and mary ,sponsor mary tipper.

sorry forgot to add ther were no addresses given for the marriage or richards baptism but it turns out that margaret had a twin brother michael born same date obviously and their addresses were given as the Coombe in dublin. dublins most well known maternity hospital known as the Coombe in this area. there are other cleggs baptisms on this site could be relatives.

hiya it could be a possible marriage .is joseph tipper and margaret madden mary tippers parents ? also what does it mean when it says sponser mary tipper ,thanks for the info

there are no parents for mary tipper given in the church register. joseph tipper is probably her brother or father. sponsor means godparent.

... addresses were given as the Coombe in dublin. Dublins most well known maternity hospital known as the Coombe in this area.

the Coombe Hospital was founded in 1826, I think.
In those days most people were born at home, rather than in hospital.

hiya i wonder if its them ,richard junior gets married to agnes cooney in manchester and they name there eldest daughter mary .perhaps after his mother .i will check the site out Thank you
