Llandyfaelog PR - Evan(s)
« on: Monday 18 March 13 20:46 GMT (UK) »
John EVAN(S) was bap c1702 and he married Mary THOMAS c1727/8 in Llandyfaelog.
I believe that their last child was born c1748.
Is there a record of his death before 1758 please?
I apologise for the imprecision of the above dates, but they're derived from the IGI, which has no fewer than 3 dates for the marriage!

There is a marriage at Llanfyfaelog of John Evan and Mary Thomas on 17th Oct 1727

However, the burials of John Evan in 1736, 1737, 1741, and 1767 do not provide any information which would help to identify him as the right person (i.e. only date of burial and name are given so no age or address/area)

Morgan,
Many thanks for that. Unfortunately, I don't know if it advances my research or not!
The reason behind my original query is that John ALBON (bachelor) m Mary EVANS (widow) in Llandyfaelog on 25 Nov 1757, so I was looking for Mary's first husband and his death before 1757. All I could find was the marriage between John EVANS and Mary THOMAS on an uncertain date. As you've now pinned this down to 1727, it leaves me wondering if this is the right marriage. Mary was presumably born c1706, making her about 51 when she married John ALBON, and 55 when their second child was born, which is a bit on the 'old' side.
Anyway, I'm most grateful for your help - I'll just have to ponder what to do about it!
