Now this is where I’m getting confused! I may have this wrong as the information I’ve got is only from a name in a book -George Hochen. I thought George was married to Hannah but can’t find any marriage certificate anywhere. Her dates are B: 1871- D: 1932
Is Jane not the daughter of these two?
I also thought that George W was also a son of these two obviously with the same name?
I maybe wrong as I’m new to all this!
Regards

Hi Mel,

Please excuse my tardy reply, but I have been offline for three months, due to having no internet connection, thankfully all now sorted! Please also accept a belated welcome to RootsChat from me!

The Hochon information that I have is as follows:

Jane Hochon (1837/39 - 1914) Born & died in Doncaster, Yorks.

Jane had two illegitimate boys:

William Hochen (1863/66 - ?) Born in Doncaster, Yorks. Married twice, 1st to Lauretta Turton in 1887 & then Harriet Hill in 1901. William had four sons.

George Hochen (1867 - 1951) Born in Doncaster, Yorks. Married Hannah Elizabeth Lindsey in 1888.

George & Hannah Elizabeth had 8 children & Hannah Elizabeth had an illegitimate child just before they married as follows:

William Arthur Lindsay (1887 - 1888)  Born & Died In Doncaster Yorkshire.

Jane Elizabeth Hochen (1888 - ?) Born in Doncaster, Yorks & married Thomas Clowes Farnworth in 1921.

Alice Maud Hochen (1890 - ?) Born in Doncaster, Yorks. Married twice, 1st to Walter Leech in 1910 & then to Joseph G Roberts in 1927.

Elsie & May Hochen (Twins) (1891 - 1891) Born & Died in Doncaster, Yorks.

Olive Hochen (1893 - 1893) Born & Died In Doncaster, Yorks.

Edith Mary Hochen (1894 - 1981) Born In Doncaster, Yorks & Died in Essex. Married Walter Farnworth in 1914.

George William Hochen (1899 - 1974) Born in Doncaster & Died in the Manchester area. Married Hester Marney in 1921.

Wilfred Redvers Hochen (1901 - ?) Born in Doncaster. Married Ada Snape in 1924.

Hope this is of help to you. I have not been able to discover Jane's parentage  as yet, unfortunately. I have lots on the Farnworth's. If you would like to know more about them, then please do ask.

Gortonboy, many thanks for your assistance, much appreciated.

Kind regards

David

Thank you David,
that’s a massive amount of information- gratefully received.

So, are you related to myself? I’m the daughter of Anne (the Grandaughter of George Hochen)

If you have information on the farnworth that would be fabulous.

Regards
Melanie

Hi Melanie,

Glad the Hochen Info was of help to you!

I'm assisting a friend who is related to you via Walter Farnworth & Edith Mary/May Hochen with their research. So, no not related myself.

I will happily share the info I have on the Farnworth's shortly, the reason being that i am just in the process of updating some parts of the Farnworth info that I have. As soon as its done, I will share what i have!

Meanwhile, if you have any further questions or queries, please feel free to ask!

Kind regards

David
