Luxmoore Family

I am seeking help with the registration of births for the Rev Luxmore's children of Devon.  He married Mary Jane Noble in the 2nd quarter 1838 in Barnstaple and on the 1851 census they had several children as the attached abstract.  I cannot find the registration of births and I was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction.  Many thanks

wife Mary J 51 lot younger than hubby born Bishops Teignton,
Mary S 18, Charles N 16, Edith 14 all bn Barnstaple.
3 servants and a visiting scholar.
Sorry no luck with baptisms in family search.

Registration of births wasn't compulsory until the 1870's!

Maybe, as a vicar, he didn't approve of civil registration?

Have you thought to G***** "Coryndon Luxmoore"?  Lot of information plus there is a wonderful black and white wedding photograph with all people identified.  Well worth a look 'n' see!

Just a bit of extra info (that's if you don't already have  ) -

Rev Henry Luxmoore married Mary Jane Noble (daughter of Rear Admiral Nobel) on 7th June 1838 at Barnstaple Church by Rev Coryndon Luxmoore (groom's father)

There is a birth notice in Trewman's Exeter Flying Post or Plymouth and Cornish Advertiser (Exeter, England) Thursday, August 29, 1839

August 17th, the  lady of Rev H Luxmoore, Vicar of Barnstaple of a son.

Unfortunately no name but perhaps Coryndon ?

Just Google "Coryndon Luxmoore" and you will see it under thread named "Images of Coryndon Luxmoore" - to the extreme right of the thread you will immediately see the black and white wedding group photograph which can be opened up.
