Hi,  thanks for the reply.  I have used Family Search and have 8 children last one Donald born 1900.
but will try the extra info you have given for the family.

Did not have a marriage date for Flora and Wm as I have only started looking for those ancestors as my mother used to speak  of Kerrs in Arran.  Are you related????

Not related , just helping out  :)

From what you have this looks a likely McCallum family -
1881 Census- Dogdubh , Saddell & Skipness , Argyll
Gilbert McCallum 62 fisherman b. Skipness Argyll
Marion McCallum 57 wife b. Saddell Argyll
Donald McCallum 35 son sailor b. Saddell Argyll
Hugh McCallum 25 fisherman b. Saddell , Argyll
Flora McCallum 19 dau b. Skipness Argyll
Gilbert McCallum 17 son b. Skipness Argyll
Marion McCallum 12 dau b. Skipness Argyll
Duncan McKinlay g. son 11 b. Skipness Argyll
James Queen 3 g, son b. Ardrossan Ayr

This could be Marion Stalker(age rounded down ?) in 1841(all born Argyll)
Auchnasavil , Saddell & Skipness , Argyll
John Stalker 45 farmer
Cathrine Stalker 47
Marion Stalker 15
Grace Stalker 10
Cathrine Stalker 9
Flora Stalker 7

William Kerr seems to have been born Kilmory Buteshire c1853

Hi ev,

I have not used Census for research, but know that it does have greatinfo.People Centre is expensive by internet  and i do not know of a free Census site.

The family is from Marion Stalker & Gilbert MacCallum.  You listed John Stalker's family from 1841.Census.  John & Catherine McKellar had 7 daughters , Flora, Grisel (Grace), Marion, Catherine, Grace, Mary, Barbara.  Barbara was my gr gr grandmother. Grisel died before 1831 as Grace was given her name in 1831.  Mary was b 26 08 1832 but we have not found anything else for her.  This is the reason I am looking at the Kerrs and still have 3 family members who remember them or the ones in their age group.

I see that Census 1881 you have MCCallum family, Donald, Hugh, Flora, Marion, grandsons  Duncan McKinlay and James Queen. The family I have is Donald, Barbra, Gilbert, Hugh, Flora, Gilbert, Marion.  Marion married Duncan Crawford, I know the family.  I have  Barbra married Alex Darroch, Flora married Wm Kerr. Nothing yet for the men!!!!  I have children for Barbra & Alex as Duncan born 1870, Hugh 1872 Isabella 1874.  Possibly wrong husband.  Wonder who James Queen's parents were.   Think I will have to find Barbra a McKinlay husband and maybe another one named Queen.

I find this very interesting and was hoping to connect with some family member but I am very grateful for any help I can receive with this extended family.  Looking forward to anything else you may have   Thanks    Dooker
