Carole lynn take a look at www.askaboutireland.ie  these are records of landholders  - for Cork it shows 1 record in Middleton for a Michael Kidney.  There are a few for Carrigtwohill also.  While these are not your direct Kidney family they may be relations.  This survey was carried out in Mid 1800's. Regards :) Should have added the survey was called Griffith Valuation

www.nationalarchives.ie/census
1901 & 1911 census Ireland.  For County Cork all the Kidney surname listed are of Roman Catholic denomination.  Entries for Middleton/Carrigtwohill/Queenstown(now Cobh) and other areas of co cork.

It could be possible the CLARK name may be of another denomination that you mention. :)
Most of the CLARK surname listed on the 1901/1911 censuses are of mostly other denominations i.e Church of England/Presbyterian etc.

I think the Kidneys probably were Catholics, who knows? Maybe between the misery caused by the famine, they endured, he nevered practiced his faith. Then let his wife take over in hers, the Clarks. Will we ever know? I hope I learn, by you researching if any living relatives show up in their line.

I am so frustrated now just don't know what to say or where to look at this point. The records for me are not easy to get to or into in Ireland. John Kidney could have been catholic then and got discouraged due to the famine.  I am at a loss. If they had family trees to research on line as I live in the USA. Please let me know something if you hear or find something new or different.
thank you sweetly,
Carole Lynn

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

I’m a descendent of the kidney family ballyannon midleton,

Carole hasn't been on-line since March 2013 but hopefully she will receive a notification.

Is it Ballyannan you're talking about?
