Hi Patricia:

It doesn't give you much information but if you haven't got any closer yet with his date of death, at least it tells you that he was still alive in 1895.

Hi Patricia:

This is such a long shot (and I'm usually way off the mark with these).

But this Thomas George Wright who died in 1966 in BC at age 91 had been in the country for 79 years. He was born in England so he would have been 12 when he arrived in 1887. It doesn't quite add up but so little of his background is recorded it made me wonder.

Do you know his date of birth?

Is this your George
From Rootsweb FreeBMD
George Thomas Wright born June(second quarter) 1875 Islington

Will keep searching

Lilybell

If the George mentioned by Lilybell is your George (which seems likely) then the death certificate George is probably not yours since he was born in February. His birth would have been recorded in the March (first quarter) 1875.

I should have checked more closely  :-[
At least I was right about being off the mark - it did seem promising and it won't hurt to keep him in mind until your George is found :)

Hi Patricia:

Have just read your PM about the baptism of Thomas George Wright:  27, Feb, 1875 Islington

I understand the confusion. I would have thought that a February birth in 1875 would have been recorded in the first (Jan/Feb/Mar) quarter rather than the second (Apr/May/Jun) quarter. But maybe not - hard to say.

FindMyPast shows 2 Thomas George and 4 George Thomas Wrights born in 1875. The London, Islington one was recorded in the second quarter so I didn't think the 28, Feb, 1875 on the BC death certificate was the right person.

However, now that you have the baptism record it makes that 1966 death in BC look a lot more likely. According to the death cert. he is divorced and in the province since about 1921.

I'll do a bit more looking - its still afternoon here  :)

Modifed:  I should have added that only one Thomas George Wright was registered in the first quarter of 1875. That was in Suffolk, Stow.
