Hi again,

Yes this is not an easy one to solve.  ???

H John casey born 1877 islington ?

According to census returns found he was born either 1877 or 1874 Kensington.

The information he supplied for his marriage to Mary Ann Young could have been fabricated as he may not have known who his father was and therefore 'invented' one - it has been known!

There is this 1881 which is a possibility -

Sarah Higson   54
Martha M. Higson   23
Elizabeth Jane Higson   19
Charles Higson   15
Emma J. Higson   10
Kate Brown   70
John Casey lodger 4 b. Kensington, Middlesex

Hello Lin,

Where do you have Islington as his birthplace?

I can see a John in 1901 with wife Mary Anne and daughter Annie but he is born Kensington.

There is a John in 1891 who is born Westminster 1879 and is in an orphanage in the Isleworth district.

Again, he is possibly the lodger aged 4 yrs in 1881 with a Higson family in Kensington.

If you thought to follow this line, there is a death for a Michael Casey 31 yrs in 1880 in Kensington.

He may be married to Catherine Casey in 1871 and they have a son James.

regards
heywood

Michael Casey married Catherine Brown in 1869.

1881  49/ 123/22

John Casey 4 yrs lodger born Kensington

Kate Brown 70 yrs lodger born Kensington.

I think this is likely to be the mother of Catherine Brown Casey. She shows as born Cork in 1871 but the mother shows as Cork in 1861  :-\

In 1881 James Casey (the one found by Heywood) is in St Marys Orphange, there is also a Michael Casey (b. 1873)

This is the same orphange that John is a resident of in 1891.

Perhaps Michael and James are his brothers, as we know that the name Michael appears on John's marriage certificate.

Now that is interesting JJen  :)

1881  27/38/ 69

has a Michael Casey born abt 1873 with father James.  (Kensington)

I had thought that this was possibly the witness to the marriage.

1861 has a Bridget Casey with sons Michael 10 yrs and James 6 yrs in Kensington.

The naming pattern would all fit.  :)

I must say though, that this is all supposition. There are a few Caseys around Kensington and Lin has Islington.  ;)

And honora casey American birth will have to carry on see if I can see I can solve anymore if not looks like dead end.

I see I'm doing it for a friend John Michael casey married Mary Ann young Michael casey is the father of John Michael casey they married on the 21st may 1899 it says Michael casey deceased that's it but the witness who signs is a Michael casey confused I am the parish is  all saints isleworth Middlesex England

This is what I have based my posts on - you say that John Michael Casey married Mary Ann Young in 1899 and that his father was Michael (deceased).

I thought I had read in this thread that the family with Honora (USA) was not the right family.

Perhaps you are best to start with what you definitely know is correct. Do you have the 1899 couple in 1901 and 1911?

Where do you have John's birth as Islington?
