One more charge and then be dumb,
            When the forts of Folly fall,
        May the victors when they come
            Find my body near the wall.

Ah is this one that Ria is looking for? Have you tried putting something on www.rafcommands.com/forum too? Need to find out whether there are any details of families on cwgc website then put something in the local papers!

Have just read this......wondered how this person knew the pilot G Cornish had bailed out
did he live and admit what he had done.....it says on the facebook message that the men
were honored on the memorial ......would they have done that for the pilot if he had left
his crew to die?

A quick Google suggests the pilot became a POW. More questions than answers in this story. I'd like to know more before getting too critical.

This is a reply from the Assn
The best I can help you with is the following link;
http://lostaircraft.com/database.php?lang=en&mode=viewentry&e=2567

This shows that P/O Cornish was taken Prisoner of War, the other were KIA, and they were on a raid to Dusseldorf.
This ties in with our Roll of Honour where the three KIA are listed.
Other than that I am afraid I cannot help any further.
Perhaps a posting on the squadron forum may yield some info. http://squadronforum.freeforums.org/no-50-and-no-61-squadrons-association-forum-f3.html

Good luck Scrimnet

For POW's you might try ADM199 as he goes down to Kew on a regular basis and may have or be able to get a repat report if you don't already have it :)
