I am looking for any information about the BANNER Family. My wife's father named Joseph Elija Banner. I know he had brothers/sisters and the family lived in MOUNT STREET in 1921 which is when my father in law was born. Unfortunately he never told his children any family history at all. They know he came from Birmingham, got married then told the family nothing. Can anyone help us get started please.

Thank you.
UGGY

Hi Uggy,

Birth record for Joseph E Banner -

q1 1921, Aston, Vol 6d Page 977

Mother's surname Ash

From Joseph's death record he was born - 20 Jan 1921.

An Arthur L Banner married Charlotte Ash q3 1920, Aston. Vol 6d Page 1585.

If you recognise the above names it may be advisable to purchase the marriage certificate to progress further.

Did the family move to Glossop? If you take a look at FreeBMD - http://www.freebmd.org.uk/
there are births with the name Banner (mother's name Ash) I will not post them as there is a chance these people could still be alive.

JJ

British Army WWI Medal Rolls Index Cards, 1914-1920
Arthur L Banner
Regiment or Corps:   Warwickshire Regiment, Labour Corps
Regimental Number:   203079, 629873

There are also 3 British Army WWI Pension Records for an Arthur Leslie Banner and one for an Arthur Banner but something appears to be wrong with the images for these as they are blurry and unreadable.
