Bruce siblings, I knew that Annie Bruce went to South Africa and maybe one or  two of her brothers were with her, I found Anna Glen Bruce on passenger lists, UK 31/1/1931 to Natal, and Durban to UK 1939 and 1947, from Beira Mozambique 1957, Ann a nurse., her Brother John Burns Bruce, born 1896, and James born 1902.
 I tried looking on the archives, no luck. please can anyone help.

Not sure what you're looking for exactly but there are indications on passenger lists that 2 of the siblings (John & Anna) both remained unmarried and both ultimately returned to the UK in their retirement years.

Passport: South African
Last Perm. Residence:  South Africa

PASSENGER LIST: South Africa to New York
Arrived New York 26 Jul 1937, on the Queen Mary
John Burns BRUCE 41, single, Advertising.
Nationality: British, Race: Scopttish
Born Panbridge, Scotland
His Travel Documents issued in Johannesburg on 2 Jul 1937
Last Perm. Residence:  Johannesburg, South Africa
Friend/Relative in UK: Mother, Mrs Robert BRUCE, The Square, Meigle, Perthshire
He has been to the US before, 1925, to Detroit Illinois
Going to is the US: Friend, Mrs Benson, Detroit
Red Complexion, Black Hair, Hazel Eyes.

On 20th March 1937 on the Dunbar Castle,, Anna Glen BRUCE, age 49, Nurse:   came back from Sth Africa to the UK as a Tourist.  She gave the same UK address as John Burns BRUCE did the same year : The Square, Meigle, Perth.

On 15 May 1957, Anna Glen BRUCE, dob 13 May 1887, single, Trained Nurse : returned to the UK on the Rhodesia Castle.  Address in the UK: Cally Cottage, Bridge of Cally, Perthsire
The manifest said she was intending to reside permanently in Scotland

The parents were Robert BRUCE  and Annie GLEN - they & their children were in Liberton Midlothian in 1891 and in Meigle, Perthsire in 1901.

This may be son James?
Certificate of Cempetency issued as 2nd Mate on Foreign Going Steamship, to:
James BRUCE, b abt 1902, Meigle, Perthsire
0019476, issued 25 Nov 1925 at Glasgow
Born: 1901, Meigle, Perthshire

Hi Ambly,

That's all correct, I had most of the voyages, not 1925, where did the travel documents come from.
I found a border crossing 1923 father Robert.
I had James Competency , but not travel details.

Will look once again at deaths in England & Scotland.

Hi Joan,

The 1925 for James was not for him on a voyage - rather, the Certificate of Competencey was issued to hiim in his capacity as a  "2nd Mate on Foreign Going Steamship".

 Hi Ambly,  Yes I understood that, Its strange I could not find any of his trips, I have had others seamen in the family, and have always been able to find some of their trips.

Just to say I found a sad end to James Bruce, he was washed overboard in 1929 from the Ship S.S.Ben Ledi.

The Bruce Family had nine children 6 died, 1 infancy, 1 at twenty. 4 died at thirty,none of them married, no grandchildren, at least their not forgotten.
