Haven't forgotten about George Brompton (Ellen Donohue's husband).

There's a George Brompton, age 40 in 1861 census in Manchester, Lancs.-
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.1.1/M7X8-97R
However he has wife Elizabeth and several children so probably not the right one.

Looks like his death-

All the details I posted were to fill in the gaps and might be useful in finding more information. Too bad you didn't mention that you had ALL this information previously as I could have saved myself a lot of searching and typing.

Will move this to Armed Forces board since you are apparently only looking for George's service records.

I am asking as I can't see it myself and did not want to waste time looking at a site that you had already looked at.  It would help if you gave a link to the site you found it on as that description could apply to a few places.

Hi, George's daughter Nora was my grandmother, so I guess we're cousins! Unfortunately I'mgetting nowhere with my family research - hope you're having better luck!
