« on: Monday 29 April 13 10:19 BST (UK) »
Any advice gratefully received. I'm looking for the street name for someone who lived in the all saints area of manchester late 60's-early 70's. Street was slum cleared in mid 70's.

I'm told i need the street name for electoral register look up but i don't know it!

Person is long gone but with the st name I was hoping I might find a photo on Manchester archives.

name was nellie momo.
not been on a site like this before so apologies if my post in wrong place.

Hope someone can end 40 plus year mystery.
thanks hazel

Hi,

If you have the persons name, have you tried the telephone directories, I think A*****y have them on their site!

Maybe someone can take a look for you, if they have a sub ;)

Hi
Do you know if the John Momo who was killed in action in 1942 was a relative?
I can see marriage and births for Momo in Manchester in 60's on Ancestry but not on www.lancashirebmd.org.uk

I will not post as they might still be living.

Hazel, if you reply twice to these posts, you will be able to send personal messages to people.

i know there are some experienced tracers here and I'm grateful for help and advice. I've never tried to find a street as well as a person.
Nellie lived in the all saints/oxford grove area of Manchester and as I said before her house went in early 70's for slum clearance. I know when and where she died.

As a kid I visited her regularly up to the age of 14 when the family had a fall out and she moved. I tried to find her in the 70's before computer's without sucess.

It was with great regret that I learnt she only died in the 90's and I didn't know; when you are a kid everyone seems old and I presumed she died in the 70's.

My reason for coming on here was to get advice about her address in the 70's. That was the house we had so many happy times. I was hoping to find the address and maybe a photo of the street on the Manchester archives.
I don't remember the address and I don't have any relatives to ask. I may never find it but thank you all for your kindness

I think you're only being advised that you need the street name so that you can narrow down the parliamentary constituency and polling district to look through.

You don't need to know the exact address, just the name of a street that's close enough to be in the same polling ward.

I've not done it myself, but I would expect it's then "just" a case of putting a shift (or more) in front of a microfilm reader in Manchester Central Library...
