Just reading the thread about Leppards of Bolney etc, Sussex. I have gone back as far as William Leppard (Lephard) who died 1794 - married Mary Pierce 1739 in Nuthurst. I have a wonderful photo of John Leppard born 1844 in Cuckfirld ( married Emily Cowdery). Please get in touch if this part of the family interests you.

I realise this is a really old thread, but I stumbled across it hunting for my Leppard ancestors. My fourth great grandfather was John Leppard who married Mary Anne Knight. Their son, also John Leppard, is my third great grandfather, who married Ellen ?Hatcher and then Emily Cowdrey.
Anyone reading who would be able to share information with me?

Witnesses Thomas and Elizabeth Knight

1851 John is born c 1810 Bolney.
With him and family is Brother William 1814.

JOHN Leppard bapt 22 Jul 1810 St Mary Magdalene, Bolney to JAMES/ANN
Brother WILLIAM bapt 06 Feb 1814
Father JAMES is a Farmer on Williams bapt

James/Ann bapt 10 children in Bolney 1806-1825
(she must have been pregnant with the 1st son Henry who was bapt 7 mths later!)

James married Ann WOOD 20 May 1806 Twineham
