Hi Sandra

Many thanks again for all that information.

Am now going to draw out family tree to see where everyone sits on it.

I might even be able to get a marriage/death announcement from the local papers.

Is there anyone you are trying to find that I might be able to help with?  If so, just ask and I will e happy to try and help.

Kind regards
and many thanks again.

Hi Sandra

Me again!

I wonder if you would be able to find anything on Lily Root, born in Sutton (Epsom) Surrey in 1901 please in Canada?

I have found a possible death for her in England but as she didn't leave it to anyone in the family I can't be sure it is her.  Looks like she left her small allowance to the Bank Manager!  If it is, it means she came home at some stage and didn't live all her life in Canada.

Many thanks
Kind regards :)

Lily Root is evading me at the moment.  Took a look at Alice Lambert (Bertram Cecil's Mother)  earlier and it seems she comes from a tangled web.

In 1891 Alice Lambert born 1874 Cheam Surrey is with her mother Elvira Lambert born 1843 Ewell Surrey (widowed) and a brother John Lambert born 1868 Cheam Surrey.

Couldn't find any trace of Alice or John under Lambert in 1881, however, at 7 Park Lane, Carshalton, Epsom is this family and I believe Eliza is Elvira showing on the 1891  ???  Andrew is described as a son-in-law but suspect that is wrong   :-

Eliza Lambert 38 Wife. Laundress born Ewell.
Andrew Gibson 17 Son-In-Law. Butcher.
John Gibson 13 Son
Albert Gibson 11 Son
Walter Gibson 9 Son
Alice Gibson 7 Daughter

This would seem to be the family in 1871 Carshalton Surrey - a mixture of Gibson and Lambert  ???

Sarah Jones 60
John Ayliffe 34
Eliza Lambert 29 Husband in Militia. Born Ewell.
Andrew Gibson 7 Son-In-Law. Born Cheam.
John Gibson 3 Son-In-Law. Born Epsom.
Albert G Lambert 1 Servant. Born Cheam.

There was a marriage in June 1869 Eliza Gibson to Richard Lambert - Epsom 2a 18.  So Andrew and John are the only true Gibson children.

There is a birth March 1864 which looks like Andrew Gibson - Epsom 2a 1
John  Gibson birth registered Dec 1867 Epsom 2a 12.
Albert George Lambert birth registered December 1869 Epsom 2a 7
Walter Lambert birth was registered September 1871 2a 10
Alice Lambert birth was registered December 1873 2a 10 (same ref as Walter in 1871  ???)
