Just incase you don't have this. George and Sarah had a daughter Doris Elizabeth 29 Oct 1906 Peel Ontario. A statement of birth was signed by Doris 17 October 1957 using her married name.
Sadly Doris Elizabeth Oldfield Porritt died 31 March 1999. Orangeville Ontario.  Cemetery Rexdale. Obituary appeared in the Toronto Star, although I haven't seen the full obituary, there were a few names of relatives - will send those few details of relatives by pm. You could try Canada 411 to see if any are traceable.  ???

Obituary listed on the Daily Times obituary Index :- Published 1 st April 1999

Thanks keyboard86 and Sandra!  You found them. I guess I can mark this lookup as complete unless anyone has any information on Sarah ie her parents names She was born Sarah Eliabeth Johnson around 1877 in Northumberland ( according to the pax list) and she married George W. Oldfield in Acomb, York at St. Stephens.  The easily obtained listing of the marriage only lists George's father Ralph. I appreciate everyone's help and such a quick response! :D

Hi Bes,

Could I suggest that you ask a moderator (Monica is one of the Scotland - Mods)  to move this thread to the Canada board in the hope of tracing George and Sarah a little further forward and perhaps finding an Obituary notice for Sarah which would name her parents  ;)

The Canada Voters List for 1935 lists all 4 family members - Vaughan Township. York. Ontario.

George Oldfield - Farmer - Nashville RR1
Mrs Sarah E Oldfield Married Woman- Nashville RR1
Miss Doris Oldfield - Spinster - Nashville RR1
Ralph Oldfield - Electrician - Nashville RR1

Thanks!  I know that George lived to 92, but I didn't know that he was living with Aunt Doris in Toronto.  Unfortunately he lost Sarah sometime between 1938-40.  ( You can tell that my family wasn't big on exchanging family stories ;))  I haven't been able to id the burial sites of either of them so I might start with checking out the cemetery that Aunt Doris is buried at!

Hopefully all these little pieces of information fill in the bigger picture and if we do get to the Canada board - more chance of further help.  ;)

Ralph Oldfield - marriage appeared in Barrie Examiner, 22 Sep 1938, p. 4. Date of Event: 3 Sep 1938  Edith Mae Madill, Bradford.

Twins do run in the family  George's parents had 2 sets ( 13 kids all together) sadly many of the twins did not survive their first year.

I have sent in a request to move this thread, sorry to all those who might be annoyed at all this CDN info in a Scottish forum!

So to recap just  in case someone can help further  - We have found Sarah Oldfield, husband George Oldfield and the 2 children Doris and Ralph (now deceased) in Vaughan Township York Ontario in 1935.

You seem to think that Sarah (nee Johnson) Oldfield may have died 1938 - 1941.

George Oldfield seems to be listed with daughter and son-in-law Doris and Merle Angus Porritt in 1965 at 203 Lake Promenade, York West Ontario (would have been around 87 years old then) and you think he died aged about 92 years.

Fingers crossed someone may be able to help you further.
