Hello,

Did you see the reply to your previous post here? http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,330705.msg4685232.html#msg4685232

Do you have your families in the censuses?  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/

It is best to say what you already have and also what you seek. It prevents duplication of information.

Best wishes
Heywood

I am researching the Hayden's and Bishop's of Tramore and Waterford any information appreciated. This tree can be viewed on ancestry.
I have John Hayden marrying Margaret Hamilton Circa1800 daughter Catherine and  son William (no information on them other than that) and son James Hayden  marrying Mary Morressey I only have one son Patrick Hayden, no wife, with son Martin marrying Mary O'Brien, no records for her but I have their children pretty well documented.

I have Walter Bishop confectioner,  Barronstrand Street, 1819 and Hannah Buckley 1826 their family  Mary and Maurice Flynn, Emma Agnes and Henry Granger, He was the Alderman of Waterford 1898 Hannah and Thomas Dowling Thomas J and Margaret Baldwin and Walter John Joseph Augustine Bishop Confectioner and hotelier and Mary Murphy whose father I think was a baker in Waterford Baronstand Street. Their son Michael, ''Micky'' Bishop was one of the leaders in the Pickardstown Ambush of 1921.

Walter also  married Bridget Mary Power whose family originally came from Great Island Wexford.
Their daughter Margaret married  Martin Hayden 1888 the son of Martin and Mary Power.

The sons of Martin Hayden  and Margaret Bishop, James 1916, William 1918  and Michael John  1922 were braught up on a farm on Great Island Wexford circa 1930.
The farm was owned by the Bridget Mary Powers's family. I am trying to find information on this part of their lives.

Searching Mcnulty, Gallagher, O'Donnell. Achill Island.
and Hayden, Bishop,  Hamilton and Grainger Tramore and Waterford.
Hayden and Power Greatisland. Wexford.

Interesting to note the connection between the Haydens, Bishops and the Power families and Micky Bishop's involvement with the Pickardstown Ambush. Page 13 of the link below sheds more light on the Power family's involvement in  local affairs.

Hi

My dad has told me that Martin Hayden was his grandfather.
The 3 brothers were sent to the Powers farm.  My grandmother was 1 of 3 sisters sent to an orphanage in Torquay.
My grandmother name was Olive Hayden
She later married my grandfather Thomas Lenihan and moved to Swansea, Wales.  Where we live

My father is interested in finding out further information earlier than Walter bishop of Tramore
He has 2 or 3 photos of Walter Bishop including a photo of his shop in Tramore

Many Thanks

Re Michael Joseph Bishop. More details can be found of his military service at:-http://mspcsearch.militaryarchives.ie/detail.aspx
Apparently he became a mining engineer in Sudan which is interesting as I understand that his nephew Bill was mining in South Africa at one time.

Interesting to read Paul's comment on the three boys working on the Power's Farm. That fits in with what I've been told about the eldest of the boys going out to fetch the cows.
There is an interesting photo on flickr of Michael Bishop when he was married. Just typing in Colonel Michael Bishop will bring it up.
