''Please Help'' With An Address In Margate in 1946

Hi There,

I recently found my 2xgrandmother Mrs G. Forsythe on the UK Incoming Passenger List, departing from Montreal,Canada, and arriving 20th May 1946 to Liverpool,England.

It also states the address she was going to is ''Melbourne'' Ethelbert, Margate, Kent.

Please if possible, can anyone out there would know if this is a such address and who would of been occupants of this address.

I think the address is "Melbourne", Ethelbert Crescent, Margate, Kent.   The street is still there.

Telephone directories pre and post WW2 show it as "Melbourne Hotel", 23 Ethelbert Crescent (Mrs Jessie TREW).

Interesting, i know my 2xgrandmother Gertrude has a daughter Jessie Foy nee Flanagan born 1884 in Belfast, theres a possibility this Jessie Trew could be her daughter.

Maybe you are right, this could be her death

Thanks so much on the further information, by the death date and age, makes her born abt 1883, by being a single woman she can't be the daughter of Gertrude, or unless she wants to be known as a single woman, more investigating i think.

I think theres something dodgy with my 2xgrandmother and her daughter Jessie, it sounds to me they have something to hide, Jessie married in 1909 in Belfast to David Whalley Foy a pro chairmaker, who i found out had properties and died 1921 in Belfast, and left a few £'s to Jessie.

Gertrude is on the Canadian records, stating she is a spinster, she's telling some lies also.

Casalguidi, as you found the probate of this Jessie, would you know if theres any other info stating her birth, or were i could find it.
