As you've now got your mother's birth certificate, can you tell us what William Smith's occupation was?

And just to be sure can you give us your grandmothers full name as it appears on the birth certificate?

If you have a look on freebmd - there is no marriage between a William Smith and an Ann or Annie White in Chesterfield or anywhere else in Derbyshire between 1901-1924

The nearest in a rough geographical area would be one in 1901 in Mansfield which has an Annie White on the same page (but not a guarantee that she married William Smith)

Although not impossible - that would mean your mother was born 23yrs after that marriage and I would have expected a lot more children between 1901-1916 when you say Charles Frederick was born

You say that your grandparents died in Chesterfield in the 1950's.  There are too many William Smith deaths between 1950-1960 but only 8 for Annie Smith

4 can be ruled out on birthyear and second names which leaves these - all Annie Smith.  Possible birthyear shown in brackets

December qtr 1959 aged 67 (1892)
March qtr 1954 aged 67 (1887)
June qtr 1960 aged 76 (1884)
September qtr 1953 aged 73  (1880)

The only Charles Frederick Smith death in 1984 with a 1916 birthyear was in Enfield Middlesex.  Is that the correct location for his death

Hi my mum had five siblings of witch see was the youngest.
Nancy smith dob 1922 ,Charles Fredrick smith dob 1918 , Marjorie dob 1916 and i think two older brothers but never met George dob 1913 and William dob 1911 all born in chesterfield .
The Annie white who married in 1901 in mansfield could be a possibility if so i can understand why no other kids between 1901 and 1911 very baffling
