Jersey Look-Up please? Fauvel/Domaille 1820
« on: Sunday 26 May 13 21:42 BST (UK) »
Could somebody look-up the marriage details of my 4x Gt Grandparents Philippe George Fauvel of Jersey and Rachel (possibly) Domaille of St Peter Port, Guernsey.

The marriage took place in St Helier on 7 October 1820.

Rachel's name is causing me some difficulty. It is spelt differently on all of her childrens birth details... Daumille, Domille, Dayer and Dyer... I've chosen Domaille as her surname as it is a recorded Guernsey surname, but I could be wrong.

I would like to know the names and occupations of both fathers, any addresses given and any other details of interest.

Because this marriage took place before civil registration the only details recorded in the parish register are the names of the bride and groom and where they came from.

6/10/1820 Fauvel Philippe George (St H) Dyer Rachel (StP) (Gsy)

There is a St Helier baptism 7/10/1801 for a Philippe George Fauvel, parents Elie Fauvel and Madelaine Gallie

Thanks LGM ... Rachel is proving very difficult to pin down. Marriage details have her as Dyer then? Hmmm  ???
