BEVOLKINGSREGISTER NEEDERLAND
« on: Sunday 26 May 13 22:57 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I have any questions about the bevolkingsregister in neederland, Zeeland from 1892 to 1909.
I understand that anybody coming to Neederland  was writting on this bevolkingsregister. Is it the true? Was everybody writing again everytime he went and went back?
It seems if a family was comming, only the man was writing. Is it the true?
But,when a woman was coming with her children without her husband, she and her children are writting, Is it the true?
Are only the men who worked was writting as inwoner? What is the exact meaning of inwoner?
It would be very great if somebody could help me to understand this.

Hi,

although not an expert, I`ll try in short:

1) correct spelling: Nederland
2) everyone - so each individual ! - entering this country should go to the town hall. Zeeland is a province, so check your information.
3)The administration in the town hall will " inscribe" - Dutch: inschrijven. In the past this was literally on a chart, nowadays on the computer.
4)if one leaves the country the same applies as ad 3 but the other way round, called "uitschrijven".
5)if one moves within the country one should go the town hall of the new city where one lives. In the past the chart was send to the new town hall. During one`s  live all your movements in the country and/or changes in your family - marriage, children etc. - were also recorded.
6)"inwoner" means "inhabitant". So there is no difference in this "inschrijvings"- procedure between workers or not.

I hope this will help,

good luck,
elcas

Thank you very much, Elcas for your answer.
Then, I don't know why my  great grandmother is not " inschrijven" just my great grandfather is when they was coming to Nederland. I don't know more why my greatgrandfather and his brother was "inwoner" many times and my greatgandmother never.
I didn't find any "uitschrijven"for anybody.

Hi,

can you be a little bit more concrete ?

Names etc.

There is a Central Bureau for Genealogy  (cbg.nl ) in the Netherlands - their site is in English also.

You may try to put your more concrete question to them.

At least they might give you some tips to go further.

Good luck and keep us informed,

elcas

Hi quisontils,

If you want to research family in the province of Zeeland, the following site might be very useful:

http://www.zeeuwengezocht.nl/en/

It is pretty self explanatory. However, if you need some help finding your way around I'd be more than happy to help you out.

Kind regards,

Haycock (Liverpool, Wolverhampton, Oswestry); Rosewell (Shepperton); Wales/Whales (Thanet, Kent); Daborn (Chobham, Horsell); Prince and Powell (Liverpool area); Maxted and She(e)pwashe (Kent); Milo/Millot (France, Holland, England); genealogical research project on links to ancient Frisian aristocracy (Hofstra-Fynia-Tania). It keeps me off the streets ;)

Thank you very much Elcas ans TreeDigger2.
I need to find when Sydneij James BAIL and his wife Juliette FATIEN was coming then left then maybe coming back to then from Middelbourg in Zeeland Nederland.
Now, with the BEVOLKINGSREGISTER, I suppose Sydneij James Bail was coming August the 22th 1892 but I don't know when he left the country.
I can't find when Juliette Fatien was coming at Middelbourg. I know she had 4 children and she appeared then in the BEVOLKINGSREGISTER. I need to know if she left before she died in 1906. I suppose yes because I found her in the BEVOLKINGSREGISTER in November the 12th 1902.
If I order an act of the BEVOLKINGSREGISTER where they are inschrijven , can I know when they are uitschrijven?
Thanks for your advice.
Kind regards
