Thank you for the suggestions - The first part is Son-in-law - the mystery name might unravel a puzzle for another Rootschatter if we can find the gentleman in Canada or the USA. Any further suggestions welcome, still looking for him.

There are these two Border crossings from US to Canada

 Paul V Helliwell    abt 1887    31 Oct 1922    Sarnia, Ontario    
Paul Helliwell    abt 1917    31 Oct 1922    Sarnia, Ontario

I cannot really understand the paperwork but it looks as if Paul V is going to see his father
and Paul to see his grandfather.

Thanks - Had a look at Paul Helliwell. He was possibly married twice but not to the correct person, so had to discount him I'm afraid.

Looking for someone who would have married Alice Elizabeth Bailey originally born 1898 Kent but immigrated 1906 and in Montreal on the 1911 census.
