Gumphreston marriage 1831 Rogers/Thomas
« on: Thursday 06 June 13 21:29 BST (UK) »
Does anyone have access to records of a marriage in Gumphreston (possibly 24 Sept 1831) between Roger Rogers and Martha Thomas?

In particular any personal details of the bride and groom or the names of the parents?

Thanks in advance.

Hi the marriage was by the reading of Banns, 24th September 1831 with consent of the parents, Martha was of Tenby and Roger of St Mary's Gumfreston, the witnesses were William Waltham and Phillip Harris.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the speedy response. Unfortunately I don't think it helps at all. Oh for the detail you get in Scotland. It may not be online but you get full details of parents. Thanks again though.

Hi I see from the 1841 Census that they have a daughter Lettuce/Lettice, she could have been named after his mother:-

Baptism Roger Rogers 16th May 1805 Cosheston Father Isaac Mother Lettice

Hi. Yes, thanks I was aware of that, it was more the bride's family I was interested in as I have nothing on her. It's good to get a bit more evidence to support one's theories though :-)
