Trying to find a mystery that me and my wife have. We are 5th cousins so many times removed( found out via dna) but not sure how only that we share 2 cousins that have denning and roper on the trees, my wifes grandfather was eric anthony ridgway born in marple, cheshire, england 1924 his mother was janet ridgway. Any help would be grateful sorry not much to go on i know. Janets parents were anthony and sarah ridgway

Have you looked for his parents marriage to establish Janet's maiden name? 

Their full birthdates will be on the 1939 register entry which will help you find their births

Use that info to trace their respective births and then look for them from the 1911 census backwards

You may have a lot of searching as you will have to look for parents/childrens/siblings marriages etc etc

Presume you have already checked for Roper/Denning marriages or Ridgeway/Roper or Ridgeway/Denning

There was no marriage apparently eric was illegitimate janet never married this man he went back to his wife and it is thought he was irish

where did you find Eric having the middle name Anthony??
I can only find a birth reg of Eric Ridgway -no middle name - he lived with Anthony and Sarah and was born 25/09/1924 and possibly his death was registered in Manchester district in 1986 - but no middle name on any of these records???

and another 1942 Sheffield district
