The Coroner's Inquest file is not recorded in the normal storage i.e the Record Office. In some cases Coroners were practising GP's/ Medical Examiners or solicitors and may have stored Inquest notes in the house files of their practice. Probably after 4 or 5 years they would have been destroyed. In these more enlightened times solicitors etc offer historical documents to Record Offices but over the years many earlier records were destroyed pariculary if a partner retired or died.

The detail given in the notes may include the time of day the body was discovered and possibly the name of the witness discovering the body and whether a PM was required. A Coroner decides whether there is a need for a jury and in straight forward cases does not form a jury. I suspect that even if a file existed you would find very little additional information.

As you are finding difficulty in locating a baptism have you considered that her marriage in 1818 may have been as a widow and Collier was not her maiden name?

Interestingly another researcher has placed a Community entry on the IGI Family Search website. Often those entries have facts [possibly placed with the best of intentions] which vary or have not been checked over and is often based on guesswork. For example the date of birth and the year of marriage varies from your data.
The date of birth I have is just a rough one calculated from her age on the census. I have no baptism or other way of finding her age.  The marriage date I will recheck. Even FreeBMD have her death in the Sep, Quarter,

I have had that thought of her being a widow, I have looked for Frizwith marriages and also births for any Frizwith.

Sorry but freeBMD entries begin in Q ending September 1837 when civil registration started so you cannot have a 1818/9 marriage therein. depending on which census that you have checked, the 1841 census rounded down to the nearest 5 years so the age given may not always be accurate.

I know, it was the death on FreeBMD that I noted, not the marriage. The marriage was from a transcription of te parish records, I will have to see if I can find them again. She was alive in the 1851 census but I agree, there is always a degree of inaccuracy when dating someones birth from census data, apart from the 1841.

In 1841 both Frizwith and her husband Robert are said to be 40. In 1851 she is 55 and Robert is 56. In 1861 Robert is 68.

The OPC for Cricklade has transcribed the marriage at St, Sampsons, Cricklade; 7-Feb-1819.  I seem to have been one day out for some reason.
