Death Certificate WA - can't read part
« on: Wednesday 10 July 13 11:48 BST (UK) »
Just wondering if anyone can try to make out the "where" details in column 12.
Jane Jerred (her death certificate) was married to a John Jerred, when she was 17. But the place I can not work out other then Ireland.
She was born in Tarbert, Kerry, Ireland.
I would really appreciate another set of eyes on this one.
The issue, living, deceased column, I have the details - kind people from BDM Registry in WA - sent a second copy (a greyed out photocopy) of that column - since the proper certified copy was unreadable at that stage.
Cheers
Ashe

And Ashe, you probably know this but in case you don't...

Queenstown has reverted to its Irish name of Cobh (pron. Cove). This happened in the 1930s sometime.

Ashe,
How old was Jane when she died?

There is a marriage in Cork 1862  for a man named John Jerred.
There are 4 couples on the film but it doesn't indicate which 2 entered into  a marriage
Two of the brides were called Jane.
If this was the correct marriage, John will have married either Jane Neagle or Jane Garde.

Thanks Cando
I didn't look at the link, I must admit.  I was quoting 1930s from an article I wrote on what a local cafe owner in Cobh told me, when I visited there in 1986   :)  :)  :)
I'm sure Wiki is more accurate!  In fact I very nearly put 'after 1921' but checked my story which said 1930s.

This list and participants are brilliant.
I wish that I possessed the wealth of knowledge that some of you guys do.
I didn't know about Queenstown/Cobh - so that explains why I couldn't find the city/town.
Annep - thanks so much - it appears that it was Jane Neagle - I loved that backup support of your look up.
Many thanks for your quick and fantastic insight.
Cheers
