The Eagers family........................
« on: Thursday 11 July 13 14:41 BST (UK) »
Would appreciate any information on this family, am helping a friend and she thinks the (s) could of been added or dropped at some time.

Henry Walter Eagers born  1909 Dublin, in 1939 he married Esther Doyle in Dublin, afterwards they moved to England.

His father was called Patrick Eagers born 1857 Dublin.  Very likely married twice as Henry was raised by his sister either called Mary or May who was alot older, also there was older siblings one could of been called Joseph born 1883.  Henry's mother was called Angela Cooney, she died in childbirth.

Sorry there is so little information.

"Henry's mother was called Angela Cooney, she died in childbirth." Died having Henry or with a younger sibling?
There's a 3 year old Henry Eager here in 1911-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Mountjoy/Gloucester_Street__Lower/25191
same family in 1901-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Mountjoy/Lr__Gloucester_St_/1327411

Are you sure of the mother's name? I can't see a death registration for an Angela Eager*. Henry's birth certificate will list her name if you don't already have the certificate-
Birth: Henry Walter Eagers, Jul-Aug-Sep 1909, Dublin South, volume 2 page 666

If the above census record is the correct Henry then this looks like marriage of Frances Dunne to Alexander Eager-

Same site has a marriage for a Patrick Eager in 1883-

A Patrick Eagers (widower) with son Joseph in 1901-
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Dublin/Merchants_Quay/Watkins_Cottages/1345020

Looks like this Patrick Eagers could have died in 1929.

Looking back at the 1883 marriage in the previous post- bride listed as Margaret Clare but according to civil index bride's surname is Clarke. The is an Angela Pidgeon on the same page but she married John Francis Biggs-

The above marriage information makes me wonder exactly how much of what you've posted is fact and how much guess-work  ???

Thought Patrick Eagers should possibly show up in 1911 census since probably died in Dublin 1929 and there is this possiblity (age is off from 1901 census but ages aren't always relaible)- aside from the initials what does match is the location (Dublin) and number of years married (28 which brings us back to c1883)- see here.

If Henry was born in 1909 and there were 16 children in the family then the 1883 marriage (and other details) perfectly possible. However, you really do need to get Henry's birth certificate to get correct names for both parents before following this any further.
