Andrew Muldoon b1867 - AWOL - Help
« on: Monday 15 July 13 15:36 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I've been tracing Andrew Muldoon through the Scottish census and have found him for

1871, 1881, 1901 1911.......

but cannot find him for 1891?  He married in Scotland in 1896 to Elspeth Ann Scott.  His parents were Neil and Elizabeth (McGuire). I was wondering if he emigrated!  I've checked the English census too but no luck....

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks
Annie

Hi Annie:

Would you know his year of birth, please, his occupation and was he born in Scotland?  Thank you, Lisa.

Just read that he was born in 1867.   ;)

I don't have access to (full) passenger lists, but after a brief search, I don't see him arriving in the states or in Canada.

You most likely have tried this, but mentioning it anyway:  have you tried searching for him using variations of his surname; using a first initial, rather than his first name; looking in directories; searching newspapers, using his full name and variations such as Mr. Muldoon?  Was his wife from the same area that he lived in, in 1881 and 1901?  If not, maybe he was living near her in 1891?

Hi Lisa,

Have tried every variation possible!  He may have gone to Australia as his sister went there in 1889 I think.  It's another avenue to explore!

Thanks again for your help.

best wishes
Annie
