Which John Price could he be?
« on: Sunday 21 July 13 04:35 BST (UK) »
An ancestor of mine, John Price married Ann Moss on the 28th November 1814 at St. Paul's, Gloucestershire. He continues to live in Gloucestershire, living in the parish of St Phillip and St Jacob in Bristol.
According to the censuses he was born around 1790 in Radnorshire, Wales.
I tried a search on FamilySearch and it returned several possible results:
https://www.familysearch.org/search/record/results#count=20&query=%2Bgivenname%3AJohn~%20%2Bsurname%3APrice~%20%2Brecord_country%3AWales%20%2Bbirth_place%3ARadnorshire~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1788-1792~
There could even be more possibilities.

Anyway perhaps someone can help me find which John Price he is.
Also if it helps his children's names were: Sarah, Ann, Eliza, Mary, Martha and John. There may be more of them, than that what I have found.

Many thanks in advance.

Blake

Have you looked for his death certificate? That might give you some more information.

He died in 1873. However there are 2 John Price's who died in the area at that time, both of the right age so I wouldn't know which one is the right certificate to get.

You might just have to bite the financial bullet and order both! Or check the census before the deaths for both people of that name and see if that gives you a clue as to which one it could be.

not sure that the death cert will help you any. It won't give name of father or where he was born. The only family info may get on it is who registered the death, probably his son.

Do you have a copy of the parish entry for the 1814 marriage? There will be the names of 2 witnesses who may or may not be related. You can get a copy from the Record Office in Bristol

Price is a very common name in Radnorshire and first name John doesn't help. Did he leave a will that might mention brothers or sisters?
