missing last word

Has anyone come across this epitaph ? The last word is missing from the gravestone .                                                   He giveth his beloved sleep to thy ?            would appreciate any help please.

There are some hits for "He giveth his beloved sleep", but nothing with " to thy" after it. Where did you get this verse from? A transcription, or have you seen the original?

Hi Ruskie , this was from the records office transcribed from the gravestone before it was lost /removed.   thanks for your reply.

Possibly a slight mistranscription of the stone? Or perhaps an addition was made to the original verse. Shame the stone is now gone ....  :(

yes Ruskie both are good possibilities. It's like being unable to finish the last word in a crossword puzzle!
