Hello Emma,
Thank you for your note - oddly enough my sisters and I plan to visit Kirkby Lonsdale in May and would like to see some of the ancestral homes. We will definitely look for Docker Hall. We plan to be in the area May 24-26. If you do find some of the notices you mention, my email is barbja@comcast.net
Thanks again, Barbara

That's great. Although be prepared that it's not really a hall - just an old farmhouse. Someone with delusions of grandour renamed it from Docker Hill a few centuries ago apparently!

Hello, I have just discovered this site, and your search for Shepherds who lived in Tearnside / Docker as Farm labourers, I have managed to go back as far as my 5th Great Grandfather Joseph Shepherd (1782 - 1868).

I just wondered whether you had any details of his father?
