Do you have any more information on him?

There are more than 20 possibilities born 1870-1911! ;D
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Those 20+ were all North Yorkshire, and none in Easingwold.

I think you have to start from basics here:
You have the birth in 1931, so you know mother's maiden name.
From that you should be able to find the marriage (using FreeBMD).

The marriage certificate will show you the father's names, and ages of the happy couple.

From that you should be able to find the family in 1911 or 1901 census.

Hi

I now know the mothers maiden name was Hawkswell and I believe William died in 1945 as Richard was 14 when he died.

I'm very new to this so any help where to start would be great

William was married beforealso however don't have any of the details

Thanks in advance

Who is Richard?
What is the connection to William?

OK. Found Richard's birth - December qtr 1931.
There's a sister Eileen, born December qtr 1930.

Not seeing a death for William? Where did he die?
Not seeing a marriage, either?

If I were you, I would buy the Birth Certificate for Richard?
That will at least give you the full names of mum & dad.

Hi

Richard was son of William
Richard was one of 6 children born to William Wray
William married Mini Hawkswell but don't know where or what year
There were 6 or 7 children however some of them are still living

I will apply for Richards birth certificate if unable to get hold of it and then start to work back from there.

Thanks
